About this file
This document is an Addendum (Addendum No. 1) for a water tower rehabilitation project issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Department for Facilities and Support Services, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, for the Bell County Forestry Camp located in Pineville, Kentucky. The project involves rehabilitating a water tower, with key details including flexibility in project start dates (fall 2025 or spring 2026), a 90-day anticipated completion timeline, and specific requirements such as full containment, removal and reinstallation of aviation lighting, and periodic inspections by Mid-South Tank Consultants. The Kasco Marine CertiSafe Active Tank Mixer has been pre-approved as an alternate to the specified Gridbee System, and a new portable tank mixer with electrical work is included in the project scope.
The project will be funded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, with the City of Pineville responsible for maintaining water system pressure during the tank's service interruption. A hydrant across a gravel road will be available for water access during the project. The exterior surface preparation will be to SSPC-SP6 standard, and while prevailing wages do not apply, bids are required to be guaranteed for 30 days. The project allows for alternate coating systems with a deductive change proposal to be considered after project award, and the owner intends to award the project as soon as possible, with work beginning after shop drawings and submittals are approved.
