About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the California Department of Transportation for roof replacement and gutter repairs at Fort Ross Property in Sonoma County. The project encompasses roof removal and installation work at two residential houses and their detached garages, as well as gutter repairs and metal roof repainting at a Crew Office and Equipment Storage Building, Gas House, and shed. The bid proposal consists of eight line items with lump sum pricing for removal and disposal of existing roofing systems, furnishing and installing new shingle roofs, repairing gutters and downspouts, replacing deteriorated decking up to 500 square feet, and performing unforeseen labor on an hourly basis. The addendum revises the original bid proposal form and updates the scope of work and property photos. Bidders must hold a current and valid C-39 Roofing license issued by the Contractors State License Board, maintain approval from the roofing manufacturer, and possess valid Department of Industrial Relations registration at the time of bid submittal and throughout the contract period.

The approximate budget for this solicitation is $300,000.00. The revised bid proposal requires all line items to be completed; any blank unit price columns will render the bid non-responsive. Unforeseen labor is estimated at 100 hours for each house structure, with a maximum allowable expenditure cap of $10,000.00 for unforeseen parts, materials, and supplies to be reimbursed based on submitted original receipts. The addendum clarifies that contractor-supplied field-applied metal roof coatings must contain a minimum of 70 percent polyvinylidene fluoride, with Sherwin Williams Fluropon identified as an acceptable alternative. The scope of work excludes Title 24 compliance requirements and includes removal of rusty screws from the Equipment Building with confirmation by the Caltrans Contract Manager prior to new paint application.
