About this file

This is Addendum No. 2 to the contract documents and specifications for a proposed Phase 2 industrial spec building project involving the Grady County Joint Development Authority in Tifton, Georgia. The project, identified as W0307-014-01, involves the construction of a 20,000 square foot industrial spec building. The bid date is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The addendum clarifies that bidders must submit the revised Bid Form on blue paper dated March 25, 2026, for Section 00410, while all remaining sections should be submitted on yellow paper. Only the revised blue Bid Form will be accepted at the bid opening.

The addendum addresses multiple clarifications and questions from the pre-bid meeting, including confirmation that no existing building drawings are available from the authority, authorization for the superintendent to serve dual roles as quality control and safety officer, specification of overhead coiling door sizes for the existing building (one 12' by 9' door and four 8' by 9' doors), and clarification regarding transformer location and new building power service sourcing from the Industrial Park Drive power pole. Additional technical guidance includes reference to geotechnical reports in Appendix A of the Specification Book, confirmation that unsuitable soils removal and replacement is covered under GDOT Grading specifications at an estimated unit rate of $18 per cubic yard, and allowance for onsite soil stockpiling provided it does not interfere with farming operations. The addendum also clarifies that pipe bollard line items have been added to the revised bid form and notes that downspout connections may appear as circles on drawings.

Provide (1) 12' wide, 9' high. Provide (4) 8' wide, 9' high.

e. Is there a new geotechnical report for Phase 2?

See Appendix A in Specification Book.

f. Bid form does not have an amount for Supplemental Work and Cash Allowance.

Please refer to Revised Blue Bid Form.

g. Pipe Bollards are shown for new and existing building (16 total) but no line item is given.

I will add some to the Bid Form, but I believe the circles you see are downspout connections.

h. Geotech reports unfavorable ground conditions. Can a unit rate for unsuitable soils remove and replace (offsite borrow) be established?

This is covered under GDOT Grading complete. I believe it is $18 C.Y. You may want to read that spec.

i. If stockpiling onsite is not allowed, does the County have a location excess soils can be delivered to?

I am pretty sure that you can stockpile excess on site as long as it is out of the way of the farming operation.
