About this file
This document is an addendum to an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) for the purchase, delivery, and installation of a new 42-inch Air Screen Cleaner with 3-way size sorting capacity for processing pine seeds. The addendum provides answers to questions received from vendors regarding the required subframe, surge hopper, variable frequency drives, and ability to subcontract installation. The ITB covers the jurisdictions of Leon County and the City of Tallahassee.
The vendor must provide the required motors and may subcontract delivery and installation, but any warranties or technical assistance will be directed to the vendor. The ITB calls for 4 sets of screens, with each species of pine requiring separate screens for proper processing. The addendum is incorporated into the original ITB, and all other terms, conditions, and specifications remain the same.

ADDENDUM 2
TO: VENDORS
FROM: CHANNCEN BELL, PROCUREMENT OFFICER
RE: INVITATION TO BID FFS NO. 22 23 62
Seed Cleaner & Sizer
This addendum is to provide answers to questions received in reference to this Invitation to Bid.
Question / Answer
1. What subframe below the new machine will you be using?
The subframe must elevate the machine to allow for discharge into a 36” tall drum.
2. What surge hopper above the new machine will you be using?
The feed hopper that is shown in the diagram should be enough for our uses. A large surge hopper placed above this machine will likely take up too much room
3. Who is providing the VFD (Variable Frequency Drives) for the “feedroll” motor and the “eccentric shake” motor?
The vendor must provide the motors
4. If a company (Bjerke Brothers Inc.) cannot install the new 3x88/132-42-2+1 Q-Sage machine are they still able to sell the machine only?
The vendor may sub-contract delivery and installation if needed. However, any warranties or technical assistance will directed to the vendor.
5. Are you calling for 4 “sets” of screens?
Yes. Each species of pine must use separate screens for proper processing
This Addendum is hereby incorporated into and made a part of the above noted Invitation to Bid. All other terms, conditions and specifications of this Invitation to Bid will remain the same.
