About this file

This document is an addendum for an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Two Procurement Office for the Baker and Alachua County Rest Area Building and Facilities Painting project. The addendum provides answers to additional questions received and updates the procurement timeline. The revised timeline shows that bids are due by 2:00 PM local time on May 19, 2022, and the public bid opening will be held at 2:30 PM on the same day. The intended award decision will be posted on May 24, 2022. The project scope includes painting interior and exterior areas of the rest area buildings, with minor repairs such as filling, sanding, and replacing rotted wood as needed. The contractor will also be responsible for caulking, treating carpenter bee holes, and painting the signs and picnic table frames.

Regarding pricing, the addendum states that up to 200 board feet of wood replacement will be included in the base bid, with any additional amounts compensated at $10.00 per board foot. An elastomeric masonry paint is specified for the picnic tables, and the contractor should follow the manufacturer's recommendations for repairing deep gouges on the composite tables. The Department will address the decorative lattice work prior to the painting work.
