About this file

This document is an Addendum to Invitation for Bid (IFB) #24BS0031 issued by the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) for Temp Relief Chief Medical Officer Services at the Veterans Home of California - Barstow. The addendum provides a list of questions and answers related to the bid requirements, including clarification that only medical corporations, physician-owned entities, and hospitals owned by public entities can submit bids, and documentation such as medical corporation documents and physician licenses are required. The addendum also confirms that the requested service is for a full-time Chief Medical Officer position, not a physician or surgeon, and provides details on the anticipated shift schedule and case volume. The IFB, Exhibit A, Exhibit A-1, Exhibit B-1, and the Bid Rate Sheet have been revised to remove references to physician/surgeon and clarify the requirements for the Chief Medical Officer.

The addendum notes that there is no current contract for this service, and this is the first time CalVet is contracting for these services, so there is no existing pricing information. The addendum also clarifies that the State's TACPA (Target Area Contract Preference Act) incentive does not apply in this case since the Veterans Home of California - Barstow is a fixed location. The contract start date will be the date the contract is fully executed and approved by the Department of General Services.
