About this file

This document is an Addendum #1 issued by the Town of Leicester, Massachusetts regarding an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the Police Station Floors project. The addendum addresses several questions from potential bidders, including confirming the removal of the existing VCT flooring, work to be done during normal business hours with no furniture moving required, and allowing bidders to complete the carpet tile areas first to avoid damage. The scope of work includes removing and disposing of 1,752 square feet of existing glued carpet, repairing and leveling the floors, removing and replacing 20 rubber stair treads/risers/landing, installing 1,752 square feet of glue-down 2x2 high-quality commercial carpet squares, and installing 1,920 square feet of Johnsonite rubber tiles with raised dots over the failed VCT.

The pricing terms, set-asides, incumbent information, funding requirements, and other salient details are not provided in this addendum document. The addendum focuses on clarifying the scope of work and addressing questions from potential bidders.

To: Potential Bidders From: David Genereux, Town Administrator RE: Police Station Floors, Addendum #1

The purpose of this addendum is to address questions concerning the Leicester Police Station Floors IFB

Please see below:

Question: Will the existing VCT be removed? My recommendation is to remove it so the subfloor can be repaired as needed and you won't have any height issues with the flooring.

Answer: Yes, all bids should include removal of the VCT as part of their bid.

Question: Just want to confirm we will not move furniture and that we will be working during normal business hours.

Answer: Confirmed. No furniture moving, and work to be done during normal business hours.

Question: Can we do the carpet tile areas first so the new flooring won’t get damaged when you’re taking the furniture out of the offices

Answer: Yes, all bidders should plan to follow this instruction.
