Addendum No. 1 to Industrial Batteries RFQ – Long Beach Utilities

This is an Addendum No. 1 to a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by Long Beach Utilities (LBU) for Industrial Batteries, dated March 30, 2023. The addendum provides answers to ten bidder questions and updates the bid form with estimated annual quantities for each line item. The RFQ covers six Energizer battery products: Industrial Alkaline AA boxes (6,000 units estimated annually), Industrial Alkaline AAA boxes (6,000 units), Industrial Alkaline C boxes (3,000 units), Industrial Alkaline D boxes (3,000 units), Industrial Alkaline 9-Volt boxes (3,000 units), and CR2 Proprietary batteries (3,000 units). The contract term is one year, with unit prices and percentage discounts to remain firm throughout. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of the addendum by signing and returning it with their quote. Hand delivery of items is permitted as an alternative to courier services.

Key pricing and contractual terms include Net 30 payment terms, with tax exemption documentation to be addressed upon award. All delivery fees must be included in the quoted price, and no additional costs may be added at invoicing. Unit prices and percentage discounts are non-negotiable and must remain constant; any increase in unit prices or decrease in percentage discounts is not acceptable, and LBU reserves the right to cancel the contract if such changes occur. No approved list of CR2 equals is available; vendors providing multiple brands should refer to the Makes, Models, and Brand Names section of the RFQ. The previous year's contract was awarded to Office Depot as the lowest responsive bidder, with a total bid of $39.33 across all items and a 0% discount offered.
