To Prospective Bidders: This addendum is to provide answers to all questions that were submitted in writing for IFB-0006 – UTV Slip On Units for Fire Management for NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
Question 1: The bid indicates that a waiver must be obtained for any item that deviates from the written specifications. However, in the section below, the words “or similar” appear. How would we go about determining if our pump meets the “or similar” part of the specification thus allowing us to avoid the waiver requirement? I can send a spec sheet for evaluation of our CET pump is needed.
Answer 1: If the vendor cannot meet the specification as written, they may propose an “or equal” alterative and provide detailed specifications of such. At the time of bid, industry experts will evaluate the proposed alterative as comparable. If it meets or exceeds the specifications, it would be an acceptable bid.
