COUNTY OF LOUISA

Finance Department

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL # CA-27-01

ADDENDUM NUMBER 1

Date: October 22, 2026

Title: Leasing of Approximately 69 Acres of Real Property for Farm Use

CORRECTION: The address for section II. I. should read 1 Woolfolk Avenue, Suite 301

Louisa, VA 23093.

Question: Is rent payable annually at the beginning of each lease year, or is payment for the full three-year term required upfront?

Answer: Rent is invoiced annually at the start of the lease year.

Question: If the County terminates the lease for convenience after a crop is planted, would we retain access to maintain and harvest that crop? If not, how would crop expenses and unused prepaid rent be handled?

Answer: The County will make every effort to continue providing access for maintenance and harvesting. Should termination of access be necessary in extenuating circumstances, the County will reimburse rent for the year.

Question: Beyond the well buffers and agricultural plan approval outlined in the RFP, are there any additional restrictions on fertilizer, herbicide, pesticide use, or other farming practices because of the public water-supply wells on the property?

Answer: Any and all restrictions regarding chemical or material applications, practices, etc. in the vicinity of public wells would be applicable. Applicators should carefully review any regulatory requirements from agencies such as the Virginia Departments of Health, Environmental Quality, Agriculture and

Consumer Services, and others regarding practices/applications. The

County may require advance documentation and approval of practices as necessary.
