About this file

This is an Addendum No. 1 to Invitation to Bid No. RFB-111-26 issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Facilities and Support Services, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) D-11 Bell County Structure Renovation project located in Bell County, Kentucky. The addendum, dated November 12, 2025, clarifies and modifies specifications and drawings in the original bid documents, specifically addressing door hardware requirements and door schedule details. The addendum includes a revised Door Schedule from Sheet A-4 clarifying door types and hardware sets, and introduces a new specification section 087100 for Door Hardware. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their bid forms, with failure to do so potentially resulting in disqualification. The addendum contains twelve sheets of specifications and scheduling information detailing hardware requirements, manufacturers, acceptable substitutions, and installation procedures.

The door hardware specifications establish detailed requirements for hinges, locksets, exit devices, closers, and related hardware from specified manufacturers including Ives, Von Duprin, Best, LCN, and others, with acceptable substitutes identified for most categories. Hardware sets are assigned to eight door openings (101-106, 101A, 102A) with two distinct hardware configurations: Set 01 includes panic hardware, rim and mortise cylinders, and surface closers for doors 101-106, while Set 02 specifies office locks without panic hardware for doors 101A and 102A. The keying system utilizes the existing Best Great Grand Master key system with 7-pin small format interchangeable Cormax cores, with the contractor providing temporary construction cores and keys and the owner supplying permanent cores and final keying. Quality assurance requirements mandate that the hardware supplier be a direct factory contract supplier employing a certified architectural hardware consultant, with submittals required within 30 days of contract award including detailed hardware schedules in electronic PDF format, product data, templates, and operations and maintenance documentation.

Where rigid housed resilient seals are scheduled in this section and the se-lected door manufacturer only requires an adhesive-mounted resilient seal, furnish rigid housed seal at minimum, or both the rigid housed seal plus the adhesive ap-plied seal. Adhesive applied seals alone are deemed insufficient for this project where rigid housed seals are scheduled.

E. Thresholds: As scheduled and per details. Substitute products: certify that the products equal or exceed specified material’s thickness. Proposed substitutions: submit for approval.

1. Exteriors: Seal perimeter to exclude water and vermin. Use butyl-rubber or polyisobutylene sealant complying with requirements in Division 7 "Thermal and Moisture Protection".
