About this file

This document is Addendum 1 for a Tire Lease contract for Metro Transit in Madison, Wisconsin, issued by the City of Madison Finance Department on August 22, 2025. The addendum addresses various clarifications and modifications to the original Request for Bid (RFB) 14040 for tire leasing services. The contract involves leasing bus tires and includes provisions for a tire engineer to inspect tires, with requirements for 12 working days of annual inspections, 100% fleet inspection, and monthly reporting. The contractor will provide tire services for Metro's bus fleet, specifically covering tire monitoring, wear inspection, and maintenance at the Ingersoll and Hanson Road facilities.

The pricing structure is based on a per-mile rate, with two tire sizes specified: 315/80R22.5 at $0.006807 per mile and 305/70R22.5 at $0.007086 per mile. The addendum indicates that there are currently no planned electric bus purchases, but future electric buses would be included in the contract if acquired during the term. The contractor will not allow retreads and has denied the use of RFID in place of branding. The city seeks a comprehensive tire leasing program with detailed service requirements, including prompt response to tire issues, monthly reporting, and annual comprehensive inspections of the entire fleet.
