About this file

This document is Addendum No. 1 for the Vasquez Blvd. Sewer Improvements project in Platteville, Colorado, issued by Northern Engineering Services on February 7, 2024. The addendum modifies the original bidding documents from January 17, 2024, and includes changes to specifications and drawings. Key modifications include adding a Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control section, revising a note on Sheet 3 regarding a transformer, and adding erosion control details to multiple sheets. The addendum also provides clarifications to several bidder questions, including confirmation that Cretex Pro-Ring is acceptable, details about working around a transformer, potential road closures, Saturday work permissions, and apartment parking lot access.

The addendum includes additional technical and logistical information for potential bidders. Notable details include that roads could be closed with advance notice during sewer line crossings, Saturday work is permitted with advance notice and equipment start restrictions, and partial apartment parking lot closures are possible with specific coordination. The Town has some potential staging areas near Town Hall, and clean fill dirt can be delivered to 100 North Division Blvd. The document also addresses specific concerns about precast manhole lead times, with the Town potentially considering project time extensions if material production becomes an issue. The Platteville Apartments manager provided additional notes about an abandoned lawn sprinkler system and recommendations for protecting existing rock landscaping during construction.

A. Work will need to be around transformer. Not scheduled for removal.

COMMENTS FROM THE PLATTEVILLE APARTMENT’S MANAGER:

1. We have abandoned the old lawn sprinkler system at the Platteville Apts and installed rocks over plastic barrier landscaping. If the contractor finds that they have cut into this old system, there would be no reason to restore it.

2. When they dig their trenches and need to deposit the earth materials next to the trenches, they can save themselves a lot of work if they invest in lots of tarps to lay over the rocks before the dump the dirt into our rock landscaping. Separating out all that dirt from the rocks at a later date is going to be costly and never really gets done correctly. We bought the rocks for a reason and we don’t need any more dirt mixed in than we already have.
