1.4 REVISIONS TO DRAWING SHEETS

1.4.1 Sheet 2 – Pavement Plan (Reissued).

1. Removed approximately 300 SY of 9” concrete pavement along the SW fence line where indicated. This area currently has rock mulch installed. Contractor to install new pavement up against existing rock mulch that currently extends out approximately 20’ from the existing fence line. Edge of concrete pavement shall match existing top of rock elevations.

2. Saw cut in 15’ drop curb and 5’ curb tapers and install 9” non-reinforced concrete apron along the back side as shown at the very south end of the access road to the back-of-house (11 SY).

3. Saw cut in 15’ drop curb and 5’ curb tapers and install 9” non-reinforced concrete apron approach pavement out to the edge of the rock mulch along the east side of the MVSC where shown (42 SY). This drop and approach can move slightly north/south as needed to utilize existing fence posts as needed. Remove rock mulch where new pavement is to be installed.

4. Install 15’ wide cantilever gate to fully access the 15’ wide concrete apron. Provide locking mechanism so gate can be locked in closed position. Gate to match existing perimeter fencing. American Fence was the contractor that installed the site perimeter fencing of the Readiness Center.

1.4.2 Sheet 3 – Grading Plan (Reissued).

1. Revised the crown elevation up to help minimize the amount of additional aggregate base course to be removed.

1.4.3 Sheet 5 – UTES Site Plan (Issued).

Once compacted, proof roll area for approval prior to the installation of a geotextile fabric (Mirafi HP 370 or approved equal) and install 12” of compacted salvaged crushed concrete surfacing. This will require approximately 34,100 cubic feet of compacted material.

5. Place stripped material just north of the area that houses the bridge units where indicated. Contractor to fill in area to provide a level pad to match existing pad to the south and slope off to the east at no more than a 4:1 slope. Extend level area at the top to the north as far as possible until the stripped material is fully used.

1.4.4 General Note. Contractor will have full access of the site. Close and lock gates at the end of each day.

FINE GRADED, SEEDED, FERTILIZED AND INSTALL EROSION CONTROL BLANKET.

2. SEEDING SHALL BE TYPE C SDDOT MIX AND INSTALLED AT A RATE OF 18 POUNDS/ACRE.

3. FERTILIZER SHALL BE A MINIMUM GUARANTEED ANALYSIS OF 13-13-13 AND INSTALLED AT A

RATE OF 100 LBDS PER ACRE

4. EROSION CONTROL BLANKET FROM BE FROM THE APPROVED PRODUCT LIST FOR EROSION

CONTROL BLANKET AT THE SDDOT WEBSITE. INSTALL PER MANUFACTURES

RECOMMENDATIONS.

5. WATER FOR VEGETATION CONSISTS OF APPLYING WATER TO SEEDED AREAS TO ENHANCE

GERMINATION AND/OR ROOT GROWTH. WHEN WATERING, USE THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES:

IMMEDIATELY AFTER SEEDING:

· KEEP THE TOPSOIL MOIST BUT NOT EXCESSIVELY WET UNTIL THE SEED HAS GERMINATED.

· WATER A MINIMUM OF 3 DAYS A WEEK FOR 2 WEEKS PREFERABLY WATERING 2 OR 3 TIMES

A DAY IN SMALL QUANTITIES.

· USE FINE SPRAY AND LOW PRESSURE TO AVOID TOPSOIL WASH AND TO PREVENT

UNCOVERING BURIED SEEDS.

AFTER EMERGENCE:

· TOPSOIL WILL BE KEPT THOROUGHLY MOISTENED BY SPRINKLING, AS NECESSARY, FOR 6

WEEKS. AFTER THE 6-WEEK PERIOD, AN INSPECTION WILL BE MADE TO DETERMINE IF

GRASS IS ESTABLISHED ENOUGH TO SUSPEND WATERING. CONTINUE WATERING UNTIL

GRASS HAS BEEN THOROUGHLY ESTABLISHED.

· NEVER APPLY WATER AT A RATE FASTER THAN THE TOPSOIL CAN ABSORB.

· WATER DURING EARLY MORNING HOURS OR EARLY EVENING HOURS.

· DO NOT WATER WHEN RAIN IS FORECASTED FOR THE AREA.

· IF RAINFALL OCCURS, SUSPEND WATERING ACCORDING TO RAINFALL AMOUNT.

CONCRETE SURFACING. CONTRACTOR TO PLACE FINISH GRADE OF CRUSHED CONCRETE TO

MATCH TOP OF EXISTING GRADE. SHALL REQUIRE APPROXIMATELY 34,100 CF OF

COMPACTED CRUSHED CONCRETE MATERIAL.
