About this file

This document is an Addendum #1 to RFQ #V211-24-037 for the Construct Moody Hall project at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI). The project involves demolishing Neikirk Hall, Cabell House, and Moody Hall and replacing them with a new structure to accommodate functions and activities for Cadets, academic departments, and alumni. The RFQ identifies the Project Manager and Superintendent as "key personnel", but encourages the submission of resumes and background for any other relevant personnel the Construction Manager at Risk intends to staff for the project, such as a Preconstruction Manager.

The contract opportunity is for the state of Virginia, specifically Rockbridge County. No pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements or sources, or other salient information is provided in the document.

Addendum #1

RFQ #V211-24-037

Project No: 211-18519-000

Project Name: Construct Moody Hall

Agency: Virginia Military Institute

Date issued: 14 DEC 23

RE: Question submitted by S.B. Ballard Construction Company in response to Moody Hall RFQ for CM@Risk on 13 DEC 23

Question #1 from S.B. Ballard Construction Company: The sections referenced in the RFQ provide information about the required Key Personnel (KP). On pages 5 & 6, the RFQ identifies

ONLY the Project Manager and the Superintendent as KP. However, on page 21, the RFQ identifies additional KP titles. (i.e.: project manager, superintendent, preconstruction manager

(CM at Risk), etc.)

Response from Virginia Military Institute: VMI considers the project manager and superintendent as “key personnel”. However, if the construction manager has “other personnel” with other titles they intend to staff for the project (i.e. principal, pre-construction manager, etc.)

that provide relevant experience to the project, it is encouraged to provide those resumés and/or background and experience.
