II. Questions and Answers

Q1. Alternate #3 says to remove and replace 1- 100’ light pole. The existing foundation is a 4-bolt foundation, will this foundation be structurally sound to install a new 100’ pole onto? Typically, a new foundation needs to be installed when you install a new pole. Please confirm if the existing pole and foundation need to be removed and if a new foundation will need to be installed, including re-routing the existing conduits and cables.

A1. Please delete alternate #3.

Q2. Can you add an allowance for concrete damage/ replacement or matting for the F2 and F1 poles? To allow the proper equipment to access these areas concrete damage will happen, and we need items to be added to the bid form to cover these costs.

A2. Any damage to concrete or other items is the responsibility of the bidder. Proper shall be provided per the detail listed in Q&A #5.

Q3. Can you please identify the access to the southeast light pole?

A3. Attached is a picture showing the access location. The access can be through the 18’ wide gate with no arch on the southwest side and drive from west to east. All asphalt and concrete must be protected per the detail listed in Q&A #5.

Q4. Can you please identify the access to the northeast light pole?

A4. Attached is a picture showing the access location. The access can be through the revised

8’ wide gate to a 16’ wide gate on the northwest side and drive from west to east through the grass area. If the grade is not sufficient, the bidder must provide temporary measures and restore it to its original condition. All asphalt and concrete must be protected per the detail listed in Q&A #5. Landscaping needs to be protected and restored from any damage.

Q5. Can you please provide the required concrete and asphalt protection mat details?

A5. Starting from the asphalt/concrete: Geotextile fabric, ¾” plywood, 2” Styrofoam, Soloco

“Dura-Base” mat system. This protection system must be used for all equipment.
