About this file

This document is an Addendum to a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) issued by the Classic Center Authority (CCA), an Authority of the State of Georgia, in cooperation with Athens-Clarke County, on behalf of the Athens-Clarke County Center for Racial Justice. The RFQ seeks to identify providers of museum exhibition design and creation services to design and create exhibits and displays for a historical center in downtown Athens, Georgia. The addendum extends the qualifications submittal deadline to May 6, 2024 and provides answers to questions about the scope of work, such as whether the project is a design-build contract, the anticipated project budget of $2 million, and details about the exhibition space. The RFQ is for a project to create an exhibition that illuminates the rich history of African Americans in Athens and surrounding communities, solidifies a commitment to justice, and inspires youth.

The addendum indicates that the CCA may select one or more finalists to submit additional proposals, and that the selected firm(s) will be responsible for exhibition design, creation, fabrication, and installation, with minimal architectural or engineering services required. The project completion date is not yet determined, and the CCA is open to receiving qualifications from design-build teams.
