About this file
This document is an Addendum to a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) issued by the Classic Center Authority (CCA) for Museum Exhibition Design and Creation Services for the Classic Center Arena in Athens, Georgia. The RFQ seeks an exhibit design services firm to design and install approximately 20,000 SF of exhibit space by the end of 2024/early 2025. The contract includes three phases, and the client is looking for design/build teams. The preliminary script will be provided by the University of Georgia (UGA) Libraries staff, and the exhibit will highlight dozens of Georgia music collections. The CCA has provided answers to questions and clarifications, including that the budget for the project is approximately $2,000,000, and that the 25-page limit does not include the required forms. The CCA has also provided site and premises information via a Dropbox link.
The document does not provide specific details on pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements, or other salient financial information. The focus is on the scope of work, response requirements, and clarifications to the RFQ process.

ADDENDUM NUMBER ONE
(Addendum to RFQ)
CCA RFQP# ARENA1- HOF1
MUSEUM EXHIBITION DESIGN AND CREATION SERVICES
The Classic Center Arena
Athens, Georgia
Date: December 18, 2023
From: Richard Sawyer, CCA Project Procurement Director
To: Potential Respondents
This Addendum forms a part of the Request for Qualifications No. ARENA1-HOF1 and modifies the RFQ as described below. Official changes and clarifications are underlined. This Addendum consists of two (2) pages.
A. The CCA IS PROVIDING ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS and REQUESTS FOR CLARIFICATIONS RECEIVED (CCA Official Answers are underlined, below):
1. To confirm, 20,000 SF of space is to be designed and installed by the end of 2024/early 2025. Correct
2. To confirm, all three phases are included in this contract? If so, the client is looking for design/build teams? Correct
3. Exhibit design firms don't usually hold a general contractor's license, is that required?
After selection, depending on final physical scope, these requirements will be discussed.
4. Is a Georgia business license required? See above answer.
5. Is the contractor or client providing the preliminary script outline? The preliminary script will be provided by UGA Libraries staff.
6. Is the collections list digitized? There are dozens of Georgia music collections that we will be highlighting in the exhibit. The item inventories are searchable on the website: https://sclfind.libs.uga.edu/sclfind/search
7. Is collection review/documentation a part of this scope? Collection documentation is not part of this project, nor "collection review" dependent upon your meaning.
Collection review for relevant exhibit objects will be done by UGA.
8. Are you looking for simple, moderate, or complex media interactives? Simple to moderate.
9. On page 9 under Suitability, do you have any further information on the solar system?
Existing designs or drawings or is this left over from another RFP? If it is left over from another RFP, can you clarify what portions of the text are no longer relevant?

Disregard. A corrected RFQ was issued after the referenced information was originally posted.
10. Is there a projected project budget in mind? Is the budge to include both design and fabrication? A budget of $2,000,000 was posted, but highly dependent upon eventual contracted services.
11. Does the 25-page limit include the forms Exhibit 1, Exhibit 2, and maybe Exhibit C? No.
12. On Page 7, A6-a. This RFQ seeks an exhibit design services firm, and this language speaks to bonding capacity for the entire project. Which would include construction, fabrication, and production. Should we just respond to A6-b instead? Yes.
13. On Page 8, A6-b. The Commercial Umbrella liability coverage in the amount of at least 5 million dollars per occurrence and general aggregate seems unusually high for exhibit design services. Could the amount be reduced to at least 2 million dollars per occurrence and general aggregate? To be determined. Or be required during the contracting phase? Yes.
14. On Page 8, A6-c. This RFQ seeks an exhibit design services firm, and this language speaks to General Contractor’s License. It also states and requires a Georgia Certificate of Existence or Certificate of Authority. Considering the timing of the RFQ process, can these documents be required after the firm is selected? Yes.
15. On Page 8, A6-d. This RFQ seeks an exhibit design services firm, and this language speaks to certify our firm’s commitment to worker’s safety and workers compensation.
Can this be presented with the COI? Yes
16. On Page 8, A10. There is no Exhibit C, “Disclosure Statement” attached to the RFQ. Is this needed within our response? Disregard
17. On Page 9, C6. The RFQ wants us to describe in-house capabilities related to media design, fabrication, and installation though the RFQ addresses exhibit design services.
Is this response only related the exhibit design services only or design/build services?
Both are sought, to the extent of capabilities.
18. On Page 10, VII-B. previous in the RFQ, it was noted that the response was to be submitted electronically to Richard Sawyer. In this section it is stated that one complete copy must be provided via “USB device”. Can you please clarify the response deliverable? And if a “USB device” is required, could the “USB device” be delivered by December 22nd? Please disregard the request for USB device.
