About this file
This addendum to Bid #DSP-030-030426 is issued by the City of Torrington, Connecticut, in response to questions submitted regarding the procurement of two dry pit submersible non-clog centrifugal pumps for the Harris Drive Pump Station. The sealed bid opening is scheduled for March 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at City Hall, 140 Main Street, Room 206, Torrington, Connecticut. The addendum clarifies three key questions: liquidated damages of $200 per day will be assessed if pumps are not delivered within 16 weeks from the date of approval; only a 5% bid bond is required; and pre-approval of any "or equal" pump alternative must be obtained before the bid due date, as submittals must be provided at bid opening and received and approved by the city before pumps are ordered.
Bidders must submit a signed copy of this addendum with their bid proposals. The City of Torrington reserves the right to award or reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, and award the contract to a bidder other than the lowest bidder if it best serves the public interest. Contact information for inquiries and submission details is provided for the Purchasing Agent, with space available on the addendum form for bidder company information, authorized representative signature, federal tax identification number, and contact details.
