Addendum No. 1 to Request for Quotation for Garage Air Compressors
This is Addendum No. 1 issued by Long Beach Utilities on April 17, 2025, for a Request for Quotation (RFQ) covering two garage air compressors. The addendum clarifies specifications and installation requirements identified through bidder questions and provides answers that bidders must acknowledge and incorporate into their quotes. The document requires bidders to sign and return the acknowledgment with their formal quotation submissions. Key clarifications address the installation environment, scope of installation work, tank mounting requirements, specifications for both compressor units including integrated dryers, and inline filter sizing capabilities.
The addendum confirms that air compressors will be installed indoors in a protected environment, with on-site personnel responsible for electrical and plumbing work beyond the vendor's hookup and installation responsibilities. Both compressor units require mounted tanks and integrated dryers sized to their respective specifications, which are detailed in lines 1 and 2 of a specification table on page 9 of the original RFQ. Additionally, inline filters must be sized to handle the output of both compressors operating simultaneously rather than sequentially. Bidders must acknowledge receipt by signing the provided form with their firm name and submission date.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
ADDENDUM NO. 1
The following changes and/or additions shall be made to the original Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Two (2) Garage Air Compressors. Please acknowledge receipt of this addendum by signing and returning with your quote.
As of April 17, 2025:
The following are answers to questions submitted:
Question 1: What environment will the compressors be installed into? I assume they will be indoors or otherwise protected from wind, dust and rain.
Answer 1: Yes, air compressors will be stored indoors.
Question 2: All electrical work and piping would need to be brought to the machine prior to our final installation. We would only hook up the wiring to the compressors, hook up the piping to the compressor, then install the inline filter and condensate separator. Is this sufficient installation work for your requirements?
Answer 2: Yes, on site personnel will be installing additional electrical and plumbing.
Question 3: The compressor specs don't mention any tanks. I assume you want both tanks mounted?
Answer 3: Yes, both tanks will need to be mounted.
Question 4: The larger compressor (58.4 cfm) did not have any specs. Do you want it with an integrated dryer and same specs as the smaller unit?
Answer 4: Specifications related to sizes and needs can be found on lines 1 and 2 of the table on page 9. Yes, a dryer will be needed for each unit with the appropriate needs
Question 5: Do the inline filters need to be sized to handle both compressors or just one at a time?
Answer 5: Yes, inline filters to handle both at the same time.
Please take a moment to review these changes when developing your RFQ.
