About this file

This Addendum No. 1 document issued on July 11, 2022, provides specification revisions and clarifications for the 2022 Coatings Program contract opportunity for the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority. The addendum modifies five specific items within Section 09900 of the contract specifications, including revisions to pressure washing requirements for filter cell concrete walls, BV5 valve and actuator coating specifications, filter control console quantities (reduced from 20 to 10 units), sludge conditioning tank coating scope (excluding connected piping), and concrete surface preparation methods. Additionally, the addendum addresses a question raised during the project walkdown at the Quarles Water Treatment Plant regarding an alternative surface preparation method, authorizing the use of diamond grinding with hand tools for vertical concrete column surfaces in lieu of blasting, provided the work complies with paint manufacturer recommendations and SSPC-13 standards. The proposal submission deadline is July 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. local time, and all bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum and any other addenda as part of their bid submission to avoid rejection.

The coatings work will be performed at two water treatment facilities in the Cobb County area: the Hugh A. Wyckoff Water Treatment Plant in Acworth and the James E. Quarles Water Treatment Plant in Marietta. The contract will result in a single award covering coating pipes, equipment, and other items at both locations, with a completion timeline of 140 consecutive calendar days from the project commencement date. No pricing terms, funding sources, set-asides, or incumbent contractor information is specified in this addendum document.
