About this file
This addendum document is issued by LJA Engineering, Inc. on behalf of the City of Griffin for Bid #26-002 (Elle's Way Project) and modifies the original bidding documents dated August 2025. The addendum addresses twenty contractor questions regarding project specifications and requirements, including clarifications on culvert specifications, foundation materials, concrete specifications, geotechnical requirements, and installation procedures. Key project components include the installation of a 12-inch DIP line with steel encasement, an aluminum single radius arch culvert with Contech Steel Express foundation forms, concrete work with 4,000 psi specifications, and associated backfill and compaction work. The arch culvert package will be supplied by the City of Griffin and will arrive in four loads, complete with all bolts and brackets. A geotechnical representative from Greencastle Engineering will be onsite to observe stone installation and compaction before express forms are placed. The Notice to Proceed (NTP) is expected within 60 days of contract award. Supporting submittal documents from Contech regarding the Steel Express foundation forms, arch culvert details, concrete footings, and installation procedures are provided with this addendum.
The contractor is responsible for providing fill material, concrete placement (4,000 psi), stone materials (surge and #57 stone per bid items), and all labor for excavation, installation, and compaction. The City has purchased express forms with pre-installed rebar and the arch culvert package, with the contractor obligated to provide concrete, labor, and supplemental materials. No staging or laydown areas have been designated, and no engineer's budget has been disclosed. The Geotechnical Report prepared by Greencastle Engineering is included in the contract documents to inform contractors of subsurface conditions and recompaction requirements.
