About this file
This document is an Addendum to the contract for the Georgia Southern University HR Building Partial Roof Replacement project, State Project Number 0239-24022A. The addendum provides questions and answers related to the project, including whether an alternative roofing material can be substituted, whether asbestos testing is required, how asbestos remediation would be handled if discovered, and details on the existing roof system composition and removal requirements. The project is located in Statesboro, Georgia, within Bulloch County.
The key details indicate that the contractor will be responsible for removing the existing spray foam and modified bitumen roof system and installing new insulation and TPO roofing as specified in the design documents. The contractor will not be required to remove the existing OSB sheathing if the spray foam can be easily removed, and the parapet walls must be prepared as necessary to install the base flashings.
