About this file

This is Addendum No. 01 to DCF ITB 2425 034-2 issued by the Florida Department of Children and Families Program Office General Services for the Sprinkler and Mechanical - Life Safety Project #33020500. The response due date is December 16, 2024, and the addendum was issued on November 26, 2024. The document modifies the scope of work related to sprinkler system installation requirements.

The key modification in Section 3.4 removes the requirement for sprinkler installation between the original ceiling and drop ceiling, which had previously specified approximately 3 feet of space. Instead, due to different ceiling constructs in hallways and bedrooms, the contractor must now mount the sprinkler pipe in the attic and cover it with R13 insulation. The addendum maintains that the attic does not require a dry or wet sprinkler system due to construction type, and hangers will still be mounted to 3x3 3/8 back-to-back banjoist/truss or other ceiling structure.
