About this file
This document is a Sole Source Justification for the Defense Health Agency's (DHA) acquisition of an electronic subscription (e-subscription) for Sterilization in Healthcare Facilities from the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
The justification explains that AAMI is the only source reasonably available to provide the DHA with the mission-essential data through their e-subscription. This is a follow-on to two previous sole-source actions for this subscription, with the anticipated period of performance from September 27, 2024 to September 26, 2029, including a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods. The DHA requires access to AAMI's standards and guidelines to ensure compliance with federal regulations, patient safety protocols, and industry best practices. AAMI is the only organization authorized to develop and publish the included standards, which are referenced by federal agencies and mandatory for certain DHA operations. The DHA conducted market research and found no other vendors or organizations that provide a comparable product or service.
