The training will be conducted by Sargent Aerospace in Tucson, AZ, with two classes scheduled in 2025: one from 5/5/2025 to 5/8/2025 and another from 9/22/2025 to 9/25/2025, each with a maximum of 5 students.
The training curriculum covers comprehensive hydraulic and servo control valve topics, including basic hydraulic principles, circuits, actuators, valve types, troubleshooting, assembly/disassembly, and testing. The contractor must provide a certified instructor, course materials, and both classroom and hands-on training. Quality assurance will be maintained through student evaluations, and the training is mandated by NAVSEA and DOD guidance to ensure maintenance technicians are qualified to work on hydraulic systems used in submarines and surface ships. The sole-source procurement is justified by Sargent Aerospace being the manufacturer and only authorized provider of this specialized training.
