About this file

This is a market research questionnaire from the Forest Service containing 13 questions focused on tree planting services in Region 2 (Rocky Mountain region). The questions seek information about contractor capabilities regarding PPE provisions, equipment management (augers, hodads, planting bags), transportation capabilities for rough terrain, insurance status, crew experience, mobilization timing, multi-job management, safety protocols on uneven terrain, seedling care procedures, and communication methods. The questionnaire is part of pre-solicitation market research for tree planting services on lands disturbed by fire, insects, diseases, or harvesting within Region 2 boundaries.

The questions specifically probe operational details like the number of augers used in planting jobs, spare parts management, trailer types for equipment transport, and crew resource allocation. The Forest Service appears particularly interested in contractors' safety protocols, communication procedures, and ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects while maintaining proper seedling care standards. The questionnaire concludes by requesting suggestions for requirement improvements.
