Sole Source Memorandum International Union for Conservation Nature Membership

The United States Department of Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), is proposing to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Purchase Order to the International Union for Conservation Nature. BOEM has a requirement to purchase IUCN membership. Period of performance shall be from 01/01/2023 to 12/31/2023. The estimated price for awarding the FFP Purchase Order is $13,907.00, which is provided under Requisition No. 0040600021.

This justification is hereby prepared in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) Soliciting from a single source. The IUCN membership is solely available through the company specified, as International Union for Conservation Nature (IUCN).

The International Union for Conservancy of Nature (IUCN) focuses on valuing and conserving nature, ensuring effective and equitable governance of its use, and deploying nature-based solutions to global challenges in climate, food, and development. IUCN supports scientific research, manages field projects all over the world, and brings governments, non-government organizations, the United Nations, and companies together to develop policy, laws, and best practice. IUCN is the leading provider of biodiversity knowledge, tools, and standards used to influence policy, undertake conservation planning, and guide action on the ground. As a Union, IUCN is well placed to bring together the key actors at all levels. Therefore, IUCN must be considered a sole source.

I certify that this justification, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), is accurate and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief.
