About this file

This is a Competition Restriction Justification (CRJ) document for a simplified acquisition procedure under FAR 12.102 for a brand-name only procurement.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Office of Acquisition, on behalf of the Office of Training (OT), is procuring a Miniature Red-dot Sight Aimpoint ACRO P-2 Red Dot Reflex Sight with Glock MOS Mount Plate (BLACK) 3.5MOA, identified as model numbers 200691+200520. The estimated procurement value is redacted in the document. This duty handgun optic is classified as protective/lifesaving equipment required for all new special agents (1811s) and SATP lateral transfer 1811s, supporting law enforcement training and operations including Federal Judiciary training, Protective Services, BAT, SATP Training Program, and Firearm Instructor Training Program, with a delivery date of September 30, 2026. The requirement is recurring, and the contractor name is listed as TBD. The justification for restricting competition to this brand-name product is based on simplified acquisition procedures under 41 U.S.C. § 1901 and § 1903, citing the unique qualification and operational necessity of the specified equipment. A Sources Sought Notice was posted to SAM.gov from July 23-30, 2026, with multiple vendors responding. Market research was conducted through manufacturer catalogs, product literature, internet searches, and review of previous DEA purchases. A pre-solicitation notice will be posted to SAM.gov. Approval levels depend on final procurement value, ranging from Contracting Officer approval for actions up to $900,000 through Senior Procurement Executive approval for actions exceeding $90 million.
