Project Description:
Project Conditions:
-The project is located in Nome, AK -The construction magnitude is between $250K and $500K.
-The construction site is in a remote area of Alaska, with limited access to suppliers and lodging.
-The adjacent housing units will remain open during construction, thus contract activities and logistics must be structured and scheduled to minimize impact to tenants.
- NPS is intending for this project to be complete during the 2025 Summer.
Project Scope:
Due to housing constraints and lack of housing in Nome, AK the NPS built a Duplex with the intention of building garages. Due to project constraints the garages were not built. The NPS is looking to have 2 structures built or shipped and put in place behind the current duplex. These structures will not be for over wintering cars or trucks but should be able to withstand snow loads, peoples’ belongings to include ATV or snowmobiles, and these structures will not be on a permanent foundation.
Please see attached pictures prior to snow fall. Also see a sketch by the park to show the available space.
Please demonstrate your ability to build or ship a structure that is roughly no bigger than 20x20 and no smaller than 12x20 to Nome, AK. Please incluse some pictures of the proposed garage structure. Demonstrate your ability to wire an electrical panel and run electrical wire for a 120v system, install a fuel oil stove to include the copper fuel line and exhaust out the building, and placement of insulation, dry wall, or other means of a finish for a garage. Demonstrate your ability to place structures on skids or adjustable concrete blocks, this is due to the soil composition and everchanging elevation due to frost heaving. Also demonstrate your ability for general carpentry needs.
