About this file

This is a Special Notice announcing an industry day and project presentation for a federal construction opportunity.

The National Park Service (NPS) invites prime contractors and subcontractors to attend an industry day for NAMA 326209 – Rehabilitate Seawalls and Shoreline (Phase III) in East Potomac Park, Washington, D.C. The in-person presentation is scheduled for August 26, 2026, at 1100 Ohio Drive Southwest, Wing D, Washington, DC, and will last approximately 2 hours. The project is expected to be solicited for construction via a best-value, Design-Bid-Build approach in fall 2026. No reimbursement is provided for attendance costs. Prospective offerors must have active SAM.gov registration and a UEI number to conduct business with the Department of Interior. The Contracting Officer is Tim Burger, and the Contract Specialist is Kristin Tauber.

Project Information:

NAMA 326209 – Beautify DC - Rehabilitate East Potomac Park Seawalls

This project will rehabilitate two sections of seawalls in East Potomac Park (EPP). The first section will begin at the Inlet Bridge and extend south along the Potomac River to include Hains Point.

The second section will begin at the Outlet Bridge and extend south along the Washington Channel to the I-395 bridge. The existing stone masonry seawall will be removed, and reconstruction will follow the historic alignment. Various seawall and shoreline stabilization alternatives will be evaluated. Portions of the design will be able to accommodate future vertical additions in response to sea level rise or increasing storm surge elevations. The existing sidewalk and railing along the seawall may be reconstructed to provide a continuous pathway along EPP and connect to existing realigned pathways for accessible access to the seawall. Existing landscaping adjacent to the seawall will be replaced and graded to provide proper drainage.

This project is expected to be solicited for construction via a best-value, Design-Bid-Build solicitation approach in the fall of 2026.

Meeting Date Locations: This is an in person meeting only. The presentation will be held on August 26, 2026, at 1100 Ohio Drive Southwest, Wing D, Washinton, DC (National Mall and Memorial Parks Headquarters).
