About this file
This is a Sources Sought Notice issued by the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), a federal agency under the Department of the Interior, to conduct market research for AC unit installation at Havasupai Quarters in Supai, Arizona. The BIE seeks to determine if there are reasonable expectations of obtaining two or more competitive offers from Indian Small Business Economic Enterprises (ISBEEs), Indian Economic Enterprises (IEEs), or small businesses (SBs). The procurement will result in a single award firm-fixed price contract under NAICS code 238220. Responses are due by March 26, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time, and interested parties should contact Mary Jane Johnson at maryjane.johnson@bie.edu or 505-803-4259.
The requirement involves removing and replacing a 15-ton air conditioning system, including outdoor condensing unit and indoor blower unit, along with replacement of two HVAC units and concrete slabs, and possible tree removal in the area. Contractors must provide all labor, supervision, tools, transportation, equipment, and materials, as well as detailed cost estimates, work plans, and schedules for hazardous building materials abatement and disposal. In accordance with the Buy Indian Act (25 U.S.C. 47), preference is given to ISBEEs; if insufficient ISBEEs respond, preference shifts to IEEs, then to SBs. Respondents must provide company name, point of contact information, SAM Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), tax ID, business qualification indication (ISBEE/IEE/SB), and a capability statement. Prospective contractors are required to be actively registered in the Systems for Award Management (SAM) at the time of offer or quotation submission.
