Text version

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Illumina Inc. for the MiSeq Reagent Kit v2, DNA Library Prep Kit, Index Kit, MiSeq Reagent Kit v3, MiSeq Reagent Micro Kit v2, and MiSeq Reagent Nano Kit v2. The Illumina v2 300 cycle reagent kits are only provided by Illumina. The kits include proprietary reagents that only work with the Illumina MiSeq sequencing platform. These reagents cannot be procured from any other source and are required for sample preparation for the Illumina MiSeq. In addition, these specific reagents are required for experimental continuity for a 3-year long project. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), “only one source [is] reasonably available” and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist Ashley Williams at dal3@cdc.gov by 12:00 PM EST on July 24, 2024.
