Performance Work Statement

Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD)

Recruit Training Regiment (RTR)

Ice Delivery Services

1.0 Background

Recruit Training Regiment (RTR) requires a reliable supply of bagged ice to support training operations and to help prevent heat-related illness and other injuries among recruits and supporting personnel. Existing ice sources have proven unreliable due to equipment outages and reliance on courtesy support from facilities that are not contractually required to provide ice.

2.0 Scope

The purpose of this requirement is to establish a contracted source for recurring delivery of commercially packaged bagged ice to MCRD San Diego based on projected weekly demand. The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, transportation, and any incidental services necessary to provide timely delivery of ice in accordance with this

Performance Work Statement (PWS).

3.0 Requirement/Task

The contractor shall provide bagged cube or crushed ice, at the Government's election, packaged in commercially approved plastic bags. Each bag shall be clearly labeled with the name and place of business of the manufacturer or distributor. The ice shall be suitable for commercial distribution, transportation, handling, and storage. The contractor shall provide all deliveries in quantities identified in the weekly delivery schedule in paragraph 5.0. All quantities in the schedule are expressed in pounds.

4.0 Delivery Requirements

Deliveries shall be made to the Duncan Hall Dining Facility, Building 620 Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California.

The contractor shall provide one delivery receipt with each delivery. At a minimum, the delivery receipt shall include:

Contractor name

Delivery date and time

Quantity delivered in pounds

Number of bags

Remaining amount of ice listed in pounds under current contract

A copy of the delivery schedule with the requested weight

Printed name/signature of the Government receiver.

Ice delivered under this contract will be stored in a Government-designated freezer at the delivery location. The contractor shall ensure delivery personnel comply with all installation access requirements and delivery procedures in effect at the time of performance.
