DRAFT Performance Work Statement (PWS) Legacy Walk Gallery Enhancement National Museum of the Marine Corps/ Marine Corps University (NMMC/MCU)
1. Background The National Museum of the Marine Corps (NMMC) has a requirement to enhance the existing Legacy Walk gallery by replacing the existing floor covering and adding two (2) interactive kiosks.
2. Scope The NMMC Legacy Walk gallery flooring is becoming unsightly as, over 17 years, small areas of carpet have been replaced when damaged. This patchwork of repairs is beginning to degrade the overall look of the flooring and NMMC requires a total carpet replacement. In addition, NMMC requires two (2) interactive information kiosks to be built to match the one existing. This will allow NMMC the ability to have media-based directory signage in the gallery.
3. Performance Requirements
3.1. Task: Carpet replacement. The Contractor shall:
3.1.1. Walk job site with Government Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) prior to starting work to better understand requirements and identify any issues that could interfere with the work.
3.1.2. Remove all existing freestanding benches and kiosks in the gallery. NMMC will provide on-site storage for these elements. The Contractor shall reinstall all removed elements after new carpet is installed.
3.1.3. Remove all existing carpet squares and vinyl flooring in the area of work (see Attachment 1). Contractor shall be responsible for disposal of flooring from NMMC property.
3.1.4. Clean and prepare concrete slab for new adhesive and carpet per manufacturer recommendations. The Contractor shall provide all materials needed to include adhesive and carpet.
3.1.5. Install new carpet squares in the area of work shown in Attachment 1. Carpet and flooring adhesive to be installed per manufacturer recommendations.
3.1.6. Replace, as needed, any vinyl baseboard that is damaged or unusable as a result of flooring removal.
3.2. Task: Interactive kiosks. The Contractor shall:
3.2.1. Create and submit fabrication drawings for two (2) interactive kiosks. These are to match the design and functionality of the existing kiosk (see Attachment 2). NMMC will review the submitted drawings and make corrections as needed. The Contractor will revise the drawings per this guidance and resubmit to NMMC for final approval. Drawing(s) shall be C size and created in AutoCAD software.
3.2.2. Contractor shall fabricate the kiosks per the approved drawings. The Contractor is not responsible for providing any audio/video equipment.
3.2.3. Contractor shall deliver the completed kiosks to the NMMC. The Contractor will not be responsible for installation of the kiosks in the gallery.
4. Applicable Information and/or Documents See Attachments 1 and 2 for information and call-outs for the procurement. NMMC is providing a ground plan for the area and call-out of the carpet and elevations with call-outs for the interactive kiosks.
