About this file
This document is a set of technical specifications for a 24-channel seismograph and associated equipment required for seismic refraction and reflection data acquisition. The key requirements include a 24-channel seismograph with high-resolution 24-bit data collection, 1.75Hz to 20kHz frequency range, and ability to connect to a laptop and GPS unit. It also specifies 24 vertical geophones of 4.5Hz and 14Hz, geophone cables, reel stands, tripod bases, hammer switches, trigger extension cables, and a propelled energy generator. The required software includes refraction data processing and surface wave data analysis capabilities.
The related federal contract opportunity is a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a Seismic Refraction Unit, with a solicitation number of 140G0124Q0245, issued by the US Geological Survey, Office of Acquisitions and Grants. The quote is due on or about 07/30/2024 and the anticipated award date is 08/02/2024. The NAICS code is 334513 with a size standard of 750 employees.

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
Requirements for a 24-channel seismograph and associated equipment Seismic Refraction Tomography is a widely used geophysical technique that allows for imaging of the subsurface using seismic waves generated on the surface of the earth. The Oklahoma Texas Water Science Center (OTWSC) currently has a need to map out deep paleochannels and potential fault lines at depths up to 600 feet below the surface of the earth. The acquisition of a 24-channel seismograph, geophones, cables, software and a propelled energy generator would allow the OTWSC to successfully acquire the data required to fulfill their mission. The seismic equipment and associated software listed below would allow the OTWSC to collect seismic refraction and reflection data that will complement other geophysical methods used in the field. The ability to use complementary methods to clearly map out the subsurface quickly and efficiently will result in higher quality data, less time spent in the field, ultimately saving time and money for the center.
