Salient Characteristics S21009

CUSTOM PORTABLE WATER QUALITY LAB/CAMPER

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:

Physical Layout:

1. Shall have floor plan and layout per attached diagrams.

2. Shall be custom built to fit the utility truck body, with internal truck bed dimensions 4’ by 8’, utility bed dimensions above bed of truck 2’ tall and sidepack with 15” horizontal inches out to the side of truck bed.

a. The lab/camper and utility truck body shall be flush on the outside. The inside of the camper and utility truck body shall be as flush as possible.

b. Vendor shall install lab/camper on the utility truck body supplied by USGS.

3. Vendor shall bolt lab/camper to the utility truck box maintaining approximately 1.5” space between the lab/camper floor and utility truck box for drainage.

4. Shall have a minimum inside height of lab/camper of 6’-5”.

5. Shall have front cab-overhang approximately 60” or the maximum allowable on a standard Ford F350 and no less than 36” high

a. Cab overhang shall have a designated cooler holding area to allow a 94-quart Igloo Marine cooler, or equivalent, that allows the lid to fully open as depicted in attached diagram. Downward slope of the upper front of lab/camper ceiling must not interfere with a side installed cooler- lid opening fully. Cooler area shall be waterproof and include a lip high enough to keep cooler from shifting during transport.

6. Shall have one (1) blade window, a minimum of 22” by 24” (with insect screen), on each side of lab/camper.

7. Shall have one (1) rear walk-through door 32” wide with a separate screen door, grab bar (not swing-out grab handle type) mounted at entry, latch mechanism capable of hold door open in gusty winds, and a deadbolt lock.

8. Shall have lockable weatherproof access ports to outside, minimum of 6” square, on each side of the lab/camper.

9. Shall have counter tops, maximum of 40” high and 25” deep on each side of lab/camper with no backsplash.

a. Counter tops shall be constructed of a durable laminate material.

10. Shall have cabinets beneath the countertops.

11. Shall have overhead cabinets along both sides that are a minimum of 20” high and 18” deep and capable of supporting 40 pounds.

12. All cabinet sidewalls (including inside back of cabinets) shall be constructed of solid material to allow mounting of laboratory equipment weighing around 15 pounds.

13. Shall have locking devices on all drawers and cabinets to prevent opening when in motion.

14. All exterior surfaces of the camper shall be hard wall Filon, fiberglass, or similar including base of lab/camper and be waterproof.

15. Must have reinforced frame/structure and/or heavy duty supports, to ensure stability and integrity when used on rough dirt roads, berms, and curbs.

16. Shall have at least one (1) Fan-tastic or similar type vent fan on ceiling.

17. Shall have a bench seat located in the forward portion of the cabin that shall span the width between the lower cabinets

a. Shall have a lift off top that is capable of holding 200 pounds and has durable padding that can be stood or sat on.

18. Shall have watertight seals on all outside doors, access ports, and windows.

19. Shall have heavy duty steps with non-slip/ tape coating for access from lab/camper main door to ground.

20. All exterior glass shall be UV resistant and tinted.

21. Shall not have metal trim for counters or cabinets.

22. Shall have floor constructed of a single piece of linoleum type flooring with 3” water/toe guard for easy mop or water spray-clean out.

23. All seams in floor must be sealed with low/no Volatile Organic Compound sealant.

24. Shall have custom rubber floor mat, with solid surface, cushioned, and raised with airspace under the mat to separate surface from dirt and liquid spills to cover entire floor.

25. Should use low/no Volatile Organic Compound products and adhesives where possible.

Electrical:

26. Shall have solar power system with panel(s), 200-watt minimum, and hardware for recharging the 12VDC camper batteries while not in use.

27. Shall have two (2) heavy duty 12-volt deep cycle batteries and power isolator, supplied by vendor mounted in one of the passenger side service truck body compartments. Shall be isolated and recharged by vehicle charging system.

28. Shall have two (2) electric systems with breakers: one (1) 12vdc and one (1) 110vac.

29. Shall have inverter system to provide dc to 110v power to 110v outlets (600 watts) and dc 12v (15 amp) power point outlets.

30. Shall have 110 vac (15 amp) system with minimum of 25ft external power cord.

31. Shall have 12 vdc system with low-power 110 v inverter for computers and led lighting, and 110vac when running on external power source.

32. Shall have at least five (5) sets of power outlets above each corner of countertop with an inverter connected to the front passenger side countertop corner.

a. Shall have one (1) 12vdc (cigarette plug style) outlet on each corner of the camper countertop.

b. Shall have one (1) power outlet will be in the upper cabinet above the filing cabinet, which will have shelf for a printer.

33. Shall have three (3) led switchable 12vdc/ac light fixtures installed on the ceiling to be controlled by on/off switches on the unit and a master wall switch.

34. Shall have two (2) led light fixtures mounted in the over-cab storage compartment with a single switch on the outside of compartment.

35. Shall have two (2) led under cabinet lights, switchable 12vdc/ac, shall be installed on each side of the camper with one master wall switch for each side. Lights shall be installed above countertop work surfaces on each side.

a. Shall not have lights directly above sink.

36. Shall have two (2) outside white led light bars/flood lights mounted on rear and two (2) on each side of camper.

a. Shall illuminate at least 20 ft around the vehicle.

b. Shall have separate side switches on inside of the camper

37. Shall have normal running and brake lights, and flashing safety led marker lights two (2) on front, two (2) on each side, and two (2) on rear of camper, switched from within cab of truck.

38. Shall have two (2) 110v outdoor power outlets on each side of camper, located near the back with outdoor covers and on a separate breaker.

39. All electrical outlets (12- and 110-volt) shall have a single battery disconnect switch located near the back door.

40. Shall have accessible fuse panel, inside.

Plumbing:

41. Shall have a 20gal freshwater tank (at minimum) and a pump inside the bench seat that is accessible from either inside or outside the camper.

a. Shall have a lockable access port on side of the camper that allows the tank to be filled from the outside.

42. Shall have one stainless steel sink (minimum of 13” x 15” x 5”) installed as close to front of counter as possible.

a. A lab faucet with a hose barb outflow shall be installed.

b. Sink shall drain into a greywater collection tank of practical size to fit in one of the rear service truck body bays. There shall be a valve that can be accessed from outside of the camper that allows the tank to drain by gravity. The outside portion of the drain must have a male garden hose fitting to allow a standard hose to be attached.

43. Shall have drain lines leading from the sink that are 1” inside diameter or larger to prevent clogs and are accessible for repair.

44. Shall have a minimum of 1-year warranty on defects, materials, and workmanship required.

45. Vendor shall be within 500 miles of customer.

a. Customer shall pick up camper at vendor location.

46. Vendor will mount camper to vehicle.
