Supply and Deliver Steel Road Gate Frames

1. Introduction

Whiskeytown National Recreation Area (WHIS) requires a vendor to supply and deliver specified steel road gate frames and their components. These gates are critical in managing and securing various types of roads within the park and at key locations that require seasonal or permanent closure. This document and Appendix A provide the requirements for these gate frames and parts.

2. Objective

The main goal of this contract is to secure a vendor capable of providing high-quality, durable steel road gate frames and components manufactured to precise specifications. All gates must adhere to the specific design provided by WHIS. The selected vendor must comply with the quality control process and produce gates meeting this document's minimum standards. Any alterations to the initial designs must be approved by the Contracting Officer (CO), Contracting

Officer's Representative (COR), or designated WHIS field inspector.

3. Vendor Responsibilities

Responsibility Description

Fabrication Fabricate the gates and gate parts as per the provided specifications and drawings.

Quality

Assurance

Adhere to quality control checks throughout the fabrication process. Before acceptance, the final product will be inspected by COR or NPS field inspector to meet all specifications.

Delivery

Deliver the fabricated gates and parts to the specified location. All deliveries must be coordinated with the CO or COR prior to delivery.

Responsibility Description

Offloading

Coordinate the offloading of the delivered material with the CO or COR prior to delivery.

4. Gate Specifications

Gates must be manufactured according to the following specifications:

Component Description

Gate Frame Pipe

Material 2 1/2" (ID) sch. 40 black steel pipe

Parts Material A36 mild steel or equivalent

Preparation All materials should be ready to weld: cleaned, free of sharp edges and slag.

Tolerance Parts and assembly tolerances should be within +/- 1/32"

Pipe Connections The end of the pipe to the sidewall of the parent pipe must be notched to fit.

Welding Standard

Compliance

All welds should conform to acceptable industry standards (free of porosity, cracks, excessive undercut, and using appropriate filler material)

Welding Joint

Requirement All weld joints must be 100% welded. Stitch welds are not permissible.

5. Gate Dimensions

The dimensions for the gates, categorized by type, are as follows:

Note: All components should be manufactured according to the specifications provided in

Appendix A. Any deviations from the given specifications must be approved by the Contracting

Officer (CO) or the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) before the fabrication process commences.

Please note that all gate dimensions must adhere to the specifications detailed in Appendix A.

Any measurement variations must be reported to and approved by the CO or COR before the fabrication.

6. Delivery Instructions

The vendor shall deliver the specified gates to the following location:

Deliveries should occur during regular business hours, Monday – Friday, between

0700-1630.

Coordination Prior to each delivery, the vendor must coordinate with the CO or COR.

Directions

From Redding, CA, follow Eureka Way/CA-299 west towards Eureka for approximately 7.3 miles to JF Kennedy Memorial Drive, turn left, and proceed about .5 Miles. The headquarters will be located on the right side.

Delivery Date The exact delivery dates will be determined at the time of award.
