About this file
This Technical Specifications Attachment is a detailed document outlining requirements for a 32-foot high-speed aluminum landing craft research vessel for Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve. The vessel specifications include comprehensive details across multiple systems: hull construction (aluminum plating, minimum 4000 lbs weight capacity), wheelhouse design (seating for eight, convertible bunks), electrical systems (12VDC and 120VAC), navigation electronics (Furuno equipment including chart plotter, radar, GPS, and AIS), and propulsion (twin diesel stern drive engines rated at 225 HP minimum).
Key additional requirements include a hydraulic system for equipment handling, comprehensive safety features (fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors), a galvanized trailer, and specific warranty and documentation provisions. The vessel must be delivered to Glacier Bay National Park in Gustavus, Alaska within 360 days after award, with sea trials requiring two National Park Service representatives to be present. The document also provides four optional add-ons, including a hydraulic anchor winch, bimini top, enhanced bottom plating, and a sonar mount platform, giving potential vendors flexibility in their proposal.
