Specifications Document Diesel powered brush chipper
Overview: Natchez National Historical Park, an entity of the National Park Service, located in Natchez, MS is in need of procuring a commercial Diesel-powered brush chipper or an equal product to carry out park chipping operations. NATC has frequent storms during the year that produce several fallen trees and limbs that need to be cleaned up, this unit will be used on a regular basis to remove the debris and create recycled material that will be used for mulch throughout the park. Annual climatic temperatures range from 200 to 1050 F. The equipment may be used in clear or dusty environments and in clear or rainy conditions.
The request for quote must include delivery cost to Natchez National Historical Park (NATC), a one-year/1000-hour warranty for parts and labor and the cost of an extra set of reversable blades and drive belt.
The specifications and requirements are for a new, unused, and non-remanufactured Diesel-powered brush chipper that includes the following (base model plus add-ons):
1. Minimum 74 HP Tier 4 final 4-cylinder liquid cooled diesel engine
2. Minimum 24 Gallon fuel capacity
3. Chipping capacity minimum 12 inches
4. Infeed height minimum 12 inches
5. Infeed opening width minimum 17.5 inches
6. Clutch less bet driven PTO engagement system
7. LED stop, turn and taillights
8. 5200 LB axle
9. Electric brakes
10. 1 year/1000-hour minimum warranty
11. Bottom feed stop bar safety system
12. Four position feed control bar
13. Feed sensing control system that monitors engine rpm and automatically stops and reverses the feed roller when feeding larger, hardwood material.
14. ECO idle control system to help aid in noise reduction, and consume less fuel
