About this file

This is a Salient Characteristics document establishing equipment specifications for a federal contract solicitation issued by the U.S. Geological Survey Water Resources Mission Area Observing Systems Division for the procurement of a hand-carried transient electromagnetic (TEM) profiler system.

The solicitation (140G0126Q0247) requires delivery of a complete TEM profiling system to Storrs, Connecticut within 30 days of purchase order receipt. The required equipment package includes eight primary components: a Model 6002 STEM10 TEM instrument for subsurface electromagnetic data acquisition with dual-moment transmitter capabilities (1-Amp low-moment and 10-Amp high-moment); a Model 6031 battery charging suitcase capable of simultaneously charging multiple batteries; four Model 5020 rechargeable high-capacity batteries; a Model 6040 heavy-duty transport case with custom foam interior and waterproof construction; a Model 6161 STEMProfiler Compact Full Kit for near-surface profiling; a Model 6181 STEMProfiler+ Full Kit with extended depth range and higher resolution; Model 7601 TEMImage Inversion Software with one year of updates and support; and Model 6301 STEM Software Premium Functionality for instrument control and real-time data processing. Vendors may propose equivalent items if they demonstrate that their products meet or exceed all specified salient characteristics. This is a small business set-aside under NAICS code 334519 (Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing) with a 600-employee size standard. The anticipated award date is August 28, 2026, with quotations to be submitted to Mindie Dixon at mindie_dixon@ios.doi.gov. All responsible sources registered at SAM.gov are eligible to submit quotations.
