About this file
This is a Limited Source Justification document for a brand-name acquisition under FAR Part 8.4 (Federal Supply Schedule). The U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Services Management/Office of Supply and Property Management, CAS Division 4 is seeking approval for a firm-fixed price order of a Skydio X10 Starter Kit NA + VT300-L with estimated cost of $274,607.70 using FY26 funding.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration's Health Inspection Department requires the Skydio X10 Starter Kit NA + VT300-L for detecting mercury contamination at mine sites across its district. Mercury testing is part of comprehensive health inspections designed to protect miners from excessive exposure to this harmful contaminant. The justification for limited source procurement is that the equipment is not repairable and must be purchased new. The manufacturer, Skydio, is offering a volume discount on the purchase. Market research identified only three suppliers capable of providing this equipment: ADS Inc, Adorama, and Skydio Inc. The item is not available on the GSA Multiple Award Schedule. The contracting officer will periodically research the open market for additional resellers to support future competition. Technical Certification was signed by Jonathan Taylor (COR) on April 8, 2026, and Contracting Officer's Certification was signed by Alicia M. Jackson on April 8, 2026.
