About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for an Optometry LED Slit Lamp with Tonometer for the Indian Health Service (IHS), Blackfeet Service Unit in Browning, Montana. The medical device is a diagnostic tool used in ophthalmology to examine the eye, measure intraocular pressure, and potentially capture high-resolution images, with specifications requiring precise diagnostic capabilities, LED illumination, and workflow efficiency.

The solicitation is set aside 100% for Indian Small Business Economic Enterprises (ISBEE) under the Buy Indian Act, with a cascading set-aside hierarchy if insufficient ISBEE offers are received. The procurement is for two units of a Haag-Streit BP900 LED Slit Lamp and corresponding Tonometers, with delivery required within 90 days of award and a total performance period of three months. 1. PROJECT TITLE: Optometry LED Slit Lamp with Tonometer

1. BACKGROUND/PURPOSE: An LED Slit lamp with tonometer is a diagnostic tool used in ophthalmology to examine the eye, measure intraocular pressure, and potentially capture images of the eye. The slit lamp provides a magnified, focused view of the eye's structures using a bright light, while the tonometer measures pressure within the eye, intraocular pressure measurement (IOP), which is the fluid pressure inside the eye, this is crucial for screening and managing conditions like glaucoma, where elevated IOP can damage the optic nerve, often using a Goldmann applanation method. The optional imaging module can capture high-resolution images for documentation and analysis.

2. SCOPE: The LED slit lamp with tonometer shall provide precise diagnostic examinations, long-lasting performance with LED illumination, and enhance workflow efficiency. The LED illumination shall provide bright, clear visualization of the anterior and posterior segments of the eye and the Tonometer shall enable accurate intraocular pressure measurement (IOP). The device shall also facilitate qualitative and quantitative analysis of various parameters of the eye and offer convenient control and comfort, and be energy-efficient.

3. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS: SOW, Quote, IGCE and Technical Specifications.
