1.0 Background

The National Park Service (NPS), Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve (ORCA), has a requirement to replace air compressor(s) in the Park’s Chalet and Headquarters Buildings. The visitor center building is located outside the city limits of Cave Junction, in Josephine County, Oregon.

2.0 Scope

The work will involve removal of the existing air compressors in 2 separate buildings and replacement with new air compressors.

The project site will be open to the public & staff during work.

EXISTING CONDITIONS: Currently the Chalet and Headquarters Buildings have two inoperable air compressors that shall be replaced with new air compressors that meet or exceed the existing air compressors specifications.

3.0 Tasks

The contractor shall employ personnel with the qualifications necessary to perform the tasks required.

• Remove existing air compressor(s)

• Reset the fire suppression system(s) after successful installation

• Provide warranty and any other manufacturer supplied supporting documentation

All work shall include supply and installation of air compressor(s).

Contractor shall reset the fire suppression system(s) after successful installation.

Provide product lead time with your quote using Attachment 4- Technical Information

Form. If the contractor is not able to install the new air compressor(s) within one week of contract award due to long product lead time they shall provide and install temporary air compressor(s) at no extra cost to the government in order to maintain the system until the new air compressors arrive and are installed. Once the new air compressor(s) are received, the temporary air compressors shall then be replaced with the new units by the contractor at no additional cost.

Pictures are for reference of the existing compressors and new compressors shall meet or exceed the specifications for replacement.

5.0 Delivery

The Contractor is responsible for all quality control to guard against defects and deficiencies in the work. Inspect and test work as needed to ensure that the quality of materials, workmanship, construction, finishes, and functional performance are in compliance with applicable specifications, drawings, building codes and standards.

SUBMITTALS: Details of the air compressor(s) including brand shall be provided by the contractor prior to installation.

CLOSEOUT SUBMITTALS:

• Operation & Maintenance Manual(s) & Warranty Documentation: Submit operation and maintenance information including but not limited to a preventative maintenance schedule, operating instructions, product / material cut sheets, system diagrams, as-built

Monument drawings, progress photos, product warranties, and a one (1) year Contractor-issued warranty on all workmanship starting from the date of final acceptance.

6.0 Government-Furnished Property

No government furnish equipment will be provided.

Temporary Utilities: The following utilities / services are available for use at the project site:

• Electrical Power Service: Electrical power service is available from facilities at or near the project site for use on the contract without charge. Provide all connections and extensions of services in a safe manner in compliance with NEC, NEMA, and UL standards and regulations

• Water Service: Potable water service is available from facilities at or near the project site for use on the contract without charge. Provide all connections and extensions of services with proper backflow prevention devices in compliance with AWWA standards and local regulations.

• Sanitary Facilities: Restrooms are available at or near the project site for use on the contract without charge. Please keep toilet clean so as not to add extra work for maintenance staff.

• Telephone Cellular Service: The project site has cellular service, but coverage is spotty.

7.0 Payment

The vendor shall submit one invoice electronically through the U. S. Department of the

Treasury's Invoice Processing Platform System (IPP), at www.IPP.gov. Payment will be made by electronic funds transfer generated by the US Treasury.

8.0 Security

Park Entry: Vehicles associated with the Contractor shall be waived the entrance fee upon entering in a marked company vehicle or by providing the names of employees entering in personal vehicle(s). Please note that the entrance fee is waived only for the purpose of reporting directly to a specific work location. Any deviation for recreational purposes is subject to payment of required entrance fees. Prior to work commencing, contractor must: Provide the

Project Manager with a listing of all contract personnel and their associated vehicles entering the park daily; Provide the Project Manager with a listing of anticipated deliveries for each week.

9.0 Place of Performance

This project is located at Oregon Caves National Monument & Preserve. The Chalet Visitor

Center (OCVC) address is: 21000 Caves Hwy, Cave Junction, OR 97523.

LODGING: There is no lodging available at the site.

DIRECTIONS

Directions to Chalet Visitor Center (OCVC) from Grants Pass Oregon. Proceed on Hwy 99 till

Redwood Hwy/OR-238, turn slight right. Take the 1st right onto Redwood Hwy/US-199 S for

28.34 miles. Turn left on Caves Hwy/OR 46, proceed for 19 miles to destination, paved road will lead directly to the Chalet.

Directions to Chalet Visitor Center (OCVC) from Crescent City California. Proceed to US-199, EXIT 794, toward I-5/Grants Pass 52 miles. Turn slight left onto US-199 N (Crossing into

Oregon) proceed 48.29 miles. Turn right onto Caves Hwy/OR-46, proceed for 19 miles to destination, paved road will lead directly to the Chalet.
