About this file

This specification sheet outlines requirements for outboard motors for various vessels used by the Green Bay Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office. The office requires three Mercury SeaPro 115 HP outboard motors, two Mercury SeaPro 150 HP outboard motors, and installation on four vessels—two fitted with dual 115 HP motors, one with a single 115 HP motor, and two with 150 HP motors. The motors must be capable of withstanding extended idle times, heavy loads, and continuous operation required for commercial workboat duties on rivers and lakes. The conservation office will transport vessels within 75 miles for installation and return after completion and will load old outboard motors for transport. The contact for questions is Nathan Barton.

SPECIFICATIONS

Mercury ELPT SeaPro

Outboard Motors

Product Features:

Name of Items:

Three (3) - 115 HP Commercial outboards Two (2) - 150 HP Commercial outboards

Manufacturer: Mercury Model Number: SeaPro 115 EXLPT; SeaPro 115 ECXLPT; SeaPro 150 EXLPT or approved equal.

Salient Characteristics:

A four-stroke outboard engine specifically designed for commercial workboats. The Mercury SeaPro engine was engineered with stiffer upper mounts and more stainless steel than other 4-stroke outboards. It has also been calibrated to meet commercial duty cycles, delivering more power with less engine stress. The Mercury SeaPro 115 EXLPT Outboard Engine is the only outboard specifically designed for a commercial workboat appropriate for our Sturgeon Boat rigged singularly. The Thor Electrofishing Boat would be rigged with dual SeaPro 115 EXLPT and ECXLPT outboards, to replace the existing 115 HP outboards it currently has. The Efish electrofishing boat would be more appropriately rigged with a SeaPro 150 EXLPT, as it is a larger platform and requires a larger motor. Similarly, the Helix Boat is the same size as Efish, and would also be best suited for a SeaPro 150 EXLPT.

Capabilities:

All vessels mentioned above are regularly worked long hours and low idle speeds and under loads which traditional outboard motors are not well designed for. The outboards will be used with our work boats and they must stand up to the daily demands of a commercial workboat. This includes operating in rivers and lakes, moving heavy loads of gear, idling for extended periods of time, and operating continuously for extended periods of time. Photos of the boat have been included in a PDF.

Delivery and Installation:

The Green Bay Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office (FWCO) is responsible for transporting our four vessels within a 75-mile radius to the contractor. The Green Bay FWCO is also responsible for picking up the vessels after the job has been completed to specifications at the industry standard. The Contractor is responsible for any transportation beyond a 75-mile radius of the Green Bay FWCO located at the following address. The Contractor is also responsible for crating the old removed outboard motors. The contractor will load the old outboards onto Green Bay FWCO trucks at the same time the vessels are picked up, upon completion of work.
