Klamath Basin NWRC May 28, 2020
1. GENERAL:
1.1 The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program has a requirement for the purchase of native seeds (note: triticale is a cover crop and not a native seed) at the Anderson Unit on Miller Island State Wildlife Area owned by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (T29S; R8E; Sec 35, 38).
1.2 Purpose: The purpose of this work is for the purchase of seed to be used for the planting 210 acres of habitat. For the purpose of this seed purchase, we require 6 different micro-habitat types to be planted in 2021, referred to as: upland mix (126.5 acres; 406.3 lbs), macro-high mix (1 acre;
9.25 lbs), saturated flats mix (52.5 acres; 350.7 lbs), wetland mix (19 acres; 134.2 lbs), river terrace mix (5 acres; 87.5 lbs), and levee mix (6 acres; 168 lbs) at the Anderson Unit restoration project. The seeds/lb, lbs/ac, and total lbs PLS (Pure Live Seed) for each species is outlined in Table 1, and broken down by each mix type. In addition, we require the purchase of a cover crop of triticale (126.5 acres; 15,180 lbs) in fall 2021. Triticale must be delivered by October 1st, 2021.
1.3 Product Features
The seed mixtures for these 6 different native cover crop mixes will be separated into the following micro-habitat types: upland mix (126.5 acres; 406.3 lbs), macro-high mix (1 acre; 9.25 lbs), saturated flats mix (52.5 acres; 350.7 lbs), wetland mix (19 acres; 134.2 lbs), river terrace mix (5 acres; 87.5 lbs), and levee mix (6 acres; 168 lbs) at the Anderson Unit restoration project.
In addition, we require the purchase of a cover crop of triticale (126.5 acres; 15,180 lbs) in fall 2021. Triticale must be delivered by October 1st, 2021.
2. PLACE/DELIVERY AND PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE:
