STATEMENT OF SPECIFICATIONS
CONCRETE PRE CAST WATER CONTROL STRUCTURE
FOR
MOOSEHORN NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE – BARING, ME
PART A – GENERAL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Provide a pre-cast concrete water control structure to include, flash boards, 65’ HDPE outlet pipe and all necessary hardware/connections. USFWS staff will install the structure upon component delivery in the Summer of 2023. The structure will provide water elevation control of the Seeley Impoundment at Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge in Baring, ME. The roadway crossing for which the structure will be placed under is intended for heavy truck truck traffic and will need to meet the HL-93 Load Rating requirements.
PART B – PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

Delivery Site:
1. 103 Headquarters Road, Baring, ME 04694
2. Component and Materials to be off-loaded by refuge staff
Deliverable Schedule:
• All materials and necessary components to be delivered by June 1, 2022
Technical Specifications:
• Pre-cast concrete (5000PSI) structure 8” thick wall sections o 8’ tall structure o 5-5.5’ wide o 48” outlet pipe (2-6’ nipple out of rear of structure to allow for easy installation) o Metal reinforcement plan as recommended by the manufacturer
• Outlet Pipe o 48” diameter HDPE – 20’ sections o 65’ in total length from rear of structure to end of pipe o Vendor to provide all necessary connection hardware, seals and lubricants
• Flashboards o Aluminum welded flash boards (2” wide min. by 6” tall) with removal grapple tools long enough to remove boards safely from the top side of the structure
• Walkway/Cover o Aluminum hinged cover over top of structure walls to allow personnel to safely remove flashboards and walk over inlet side of the structure
Submittals:
• Vendor to provide shop drawings of the structure 45 days after award for review and approval a prior to manufacture. USFWS to review and comment/approve/return within 5 business days.
