Statement of Work: 2D and Selected 3D Seismic-Reflection Interpretations
I. WORK REQUIREMENTS
A. Technical Requirements
1. Describe specific work requirements and work products:
At the vendor’s workplace, the vendor will:
· Conduct work at their business address.
· Load all 2D SEGY files into a complete Kingdom seismic software project, and selected 2D and 3D SEGY files into OpendTect seismic software projects. SEGY files will be shipped to the vendor on USB drives by the USGS as they become available.
· Vendor must use Kingdom and OpendTect seismic software to be compatible with the existing legacy Kingdom SMT and OpendTect seismic software projects in progress at the USGS office in Davie, Florida.
· As software updates and new functionality becomes available to Kingdom and OpendTect software the vendor will review potential application to project needs using the updates and new functionalities with the USGS.
· Provide guidance, twice a year, to the USGS project lead on methods and workflows used with Kingdom and OpendTect software and document the guidance in PowerPoint explanations when requested by the USGS.
· Review and confirm previous seismic-to-synthetic seismogram correlations. Complete new ones as data becomes available, completion of this task includes utilization of the Kingdom seismic software plugin SynPak.
· Using Kingdom software, interpret and map key horizons (includes Paleocene to Quaternary seismic stratigraphic units and where possible Cretaceous units on all 2D SEGY data sets.
· Create, QC, and update an integrated onshore/offshore velocity depth model in Kingdom software. The vendor will the use the modified depth model to create or update depth-converted structure maps and depth-converted vertical seismic profiles.
· At least every two months, produce PowerPoint summary updates of interpreted seismic lines and associated time and depth-converted structure maps. Include depth converted seismic profiles in SEGY format for the seismic lines and horizon grid files for time and depth structure maps. Ship as electronic files on USB or external hard drives to the USGS in Davie, Florida and provide a Microsoft Teams telemeeting with USGS Project lead to review the new products.
· If the project needs require, the vendor will migrate projects to most current versions of Kingdom and OpendTect software, learn the new functionalities of the software, and utilize the new functionality.
· If the project needs require, complete seismic attribute analysis of select areas of 2D seismic profiles and specific selected 3D volumes.
· Create visualizations and data files of the distribution and character of faults and fractures interpreted on selected 2D and 3D seismic data using new OpendTect attribute functionality.
· If the project needs require, map sequence stratigraphic intervals using the OpendTect seismic software Sequence Stratigraphic Interpretation System (SSIS) plugin for select profiles from offshore areas and deliver product as SEGY files.
· Write summaries, once every two months, of seismic interpretation work (as directed by the USGS), for inclusion into published journal articles or USGS reports. This will include a write up of Methods sections for work done by the vendor and minor contributions to results sections where requested by the USGS for publication products.
2. Criteria for acceptance of Product or Service:
· The Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COR) will check over all deliverables and to assess quality of work: task includes verifying placement of seismic horizons on seismic profiles along geologically reasonable seismic reflections without deviation off the subject reflections (except in cases where placement of reconnaissance horizons is being conducted) and verification of horizon maps by comparison of horizons in well data to seismic profiles, as well as consistency of interpretations included in written and graphical products.
B. Deliverables:
1. Characteristics for work product described in IA1 identified by name and quantity:
· All data files will be cross-checked and compared to well data for verification of accuracy by comparison to well data. Figures will be in Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw native or compatible files; seismic data will be as SEGY files; grid map files will be in depth and XY state plane or two-way travel time and XY state plane format, such as excel files; and text files will be used for documents with text. Any electronic files will be delivered via mail on USB thumbs or external hard drives.
2. The vendor will deliver:
· Updates by the first weekday of every other month, staring two months into the contract, consisting of all existing and any newly acquired 2D SEGY files in a complete Kingdom Project and OpendTect Project as they become available. Includes the delivery of full Kingdom Project and OpendTect Project backups on a regular basis, every two months, containing all new interpretations on seismic profiles and maps as they progress.
· Every two months, PowerPoint summaries and Teams telemeetings of new seismic interpretations, associated time and depth converted horizon maps, velocity/depth model updates, and writing and graphics.
· Provide the USGS project leader with PowerPoint summaries and Teams telemeetings of guidance on methods and workflows used with Kingdom and OpendTect software.
· Hi-resolution vertical seismic depth and time profiles in SEGY format.
· Horizon grid files of time and depth converted structure maps.
· If the project needs require, seismic attribute work analysis/summaries in PowerPoint format.
· If the project needs require, vertical seismic profiles of specified seismic attributes. Horizon and volume extracted attribute maps. Delivered as SEGY seismic profile files and accompanied by PowerPoint summaries.
· If the project needs require, sequence stratigraphic interval mapping using OpendTect SSIS workflow: PowerPoint summaries, horizon extraction files and vertical seismic profiles in SEGY format.
· Written summaries of seismic interpretation as explained in Section IA1, bullet 14 will be provided to the USGS upon request during the writing of information products. The vendor will be involved in no more than a total of three USGS reports or journal articles, over the contract period.
· Key graphic images of seismic interpretation work to include horizon interpretations on seismic profiles, contoured horizon maps, horizon time-to-depth corrected maps, and attribute imaging on seismic profiles (as directed by the USGS), including SSIS interpretations. These images will be determined by the need to illustrate USGS reports and journal publications. These images will be submitted to the USGS when production of information products is conducted by the USGS and submitted to the USGS in Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw format, for inclusion into published journal articles or USGS reports.
3. Delivery dates for work and products to be completed and point of delivery:
· Deliver via ground or air shipment of an external hard drive or USB drive electronic files of updated full Kingdom SMT Seismic Project and OpedTect every two months, throughout the duration of the project. Deliver all text and Adobe Illustrator or CoralDraw compatible graphics files as needed by the USGS to meet publication deadlines when requested and as needed by the USGS throughout the duration of the project. Delivery of work and products will be shipped to the U.S. Geological Survey, Center for Collaborative Research, 3321 College Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33314. Attn: Kevin Cunningham
