About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a drainage ditch cleanout project for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at Agassiz National Wildlife Refuge in Middle River, Minnesota. The project involves cleaning approximately 1,615 feet of the J.D. 11 Branch 201 drainage ditch, with specific requirements including a 4-foot cut width between stations 45+00 and 65+00. Contractors are required to cleanout the ditch bottom to remove sediment and vegetation impeding water flow, with spoil to be deposited along the north side of the ditch slope and levee as directed by refuge staff.
Key contractor responsibilities include providing 48-hour advance notice before starting work, completing the project by June 15th, 2026, and ensuring equipment is cleaned pre and post-entry to prevent spread of noxious and invasive species. The work must minimize rutting, disturbance, and soil compaction, with contractors responsible for repairing any damage to access roads. A site visit is highly recommended, and contractors will need a long-reach excavator to access the ditch from the north side. Some oak trees along the ditch slope may need removal, subject to refuge point of contact approval. Payment will be processed after inspection and receipt of proper invoices.
