STATEMENT OF WORK
John Heinz NWR Backflow Install at Maintenance Shop
1. General:
1.1 John Heinz NWR at Tinicium recently had a fire sprinkler system inspection that identified certain deficiencies in the fire prevention systems that require immediate attention. This scope of work outlines the steps needed to repair the system, ensuring it meets all compliance and safety standards and operates efficiently.
1.2 Repairs are needed for fire prevention safety.
1.3 Work must be completed by a qualified Fire Protection and Security company.
2. Place of Performance and Period of Performance
2.1 Location: John Heinz NWR at Tinicum, 8601 Lindbergh Blvd., Philadelphia PA 19153.
2.2 Period of Performance is expected to be two months
2.3 Normal duty hours Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. In the event of emergencies, Contractor shall provide contact information.
2.4 Non-duty hours include week nights, weekends, and Government holidays (New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King JR.s’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day).
3. Scope
3.1 Work includes the following repairs:
Backflow Install to Fire Security System
These repairs are needed to address operation and safety concerns. Specific items addressed below:
• Coordinate schedule with onsite personnel
• Systems will be secured in order to be worked on.
• The work will have the domestic water turned off during the time of the installation.
• Contractor will install Three (3) 1" backflows to protect the drinking water for the system.
• After the work is performed, the contractor will test the devices and restore the system to normal.
• All work will be performed during regular working hours, installed in a skilled workmanlike manner, and in accordance with all/any applicable NFPA pamphlet and local codes in effect as of the date of award.
4. Evaluation and Acceptance
4.1 The contractor will be evaluated as detailed herein. Government acceptance is contingent upon onsite inspection of work.
5. Quality Control/Quality Assurance:
5.1 For commercial supplies reference clauses for inspection and acceptance. Where appropriate, QC will be maintained according to industry standards and made available to the agency.
5.2 Identify and detail measures for assessing quality control and acceptance; each requirement is unique and a table format is visually friendly and may be desirable.
